The Series Highlights the People and Places Being Destroyed by Toxic Discharges
Stuart, Fla. – U.S. Congressman Brian Mast (FL-18) today released the third episode of his new documentary series, titled The Tortured Coast. The series highlights the human and environmental toll from the toxic Lake Okeechobee discharges: business being forced to shut down, people getting sick, animals dying and critical habitats being destroyed.

The third episode showcases the struggles of businesses like Outboards Only in Jensen Beach resulting from the toxic algae crisis. The episode also focuses on the importance of the EAA Southern Storage Reservoir, including the work of the Everglades Foundation and Congressman Mast’s work to get the project authorized in Congress.
