Before the coronavirus pandemic, our economy was doing better than it ever had. Wages were up, inflation was down and people were able to do more with their money. Much of that was because of the historic Tax Cuts and Jobs Act that I was proud to vote for in 2017.
Now, thanks to Joe Biden, the economy has tanked. Inflation is at a level we haven’t seen since Jimmy Carter was in office, which has wiped out any potential wage growth. Democrats in Congress have no plan for how to fix it.
It’s crystal clear that what we need to do is get back to the pro-growth policies that worked. That’s why I’m cosponsoring the Protecting Family and Small Business Tax Cuts Act. This bill is simple: it would make President Trump’s tax cuts permanent for individuals, families and small businesses.
At a time when so many are struggling to make ends meet, the last thing they need is to get hit with a tax hike. This legislation would make sure that never happens, and I’ll be fighting to pass it.
