6 months ago, the world watched in horror as desperate Afghans rushed the tarmac and clung to planes – trying anything to escape as the Taliban closed in on Kabul.
In August, Joe Biden’s decision to put a political goal over a strategic objective allowed the Taliban to barnstorm the nation and seize control in a matter of days, after American and allied forces had spent two decades keeping them at bay.
To date, there has been no accountability because Democrats in Congress have resisted it at every turn — even opposing our effort to preserve critical documents that could shed light on exactly what went wrong. It’s clear that the Biden Administration lied to the world, claiming that they had “prepared for every possible contingency,” and that they would stay until every American was out.
Joe Biden must take responsibility for the lies and the complete lack of plan. The American people deserve no less.
