Big win for veterans!
The bipartisan Honoring Our PACT Act overwhelmingly passed both the Senate and the House and is now headed to the President’s desk. This monumental legislation includes the Burn Pit Transparency Act that I co-authored to address the burn pit crisis facing our veterans.
For veterans dealing with the harmful impacts of burn pit exposures, this is long overdue. Once the bill gets signed into law, the VA will finally be forced to recognize the negative impacts of the burn pit exposures and track them so the impacted veterans can get the care they need.
This is a massive win for every veteran who has been ignored while they struggled to run or even just breathe. I will continue to fight to ensure that our government takes accountability for those who are put in harm’s way in the name of service to our country.
