Once a sports icon, Lance Armstrong was stripped of all his titles – which includes winning seven consecutive wins for the Tour de France – all because of his use of performance-enhancing drugs. It’s simple: he lost the titles because he cheated.
Cheating is when one acts unfairly in order to gain an advantage. We screen all professional athletes for steroids and other performance-enhancing drugs because if sports aren’t fair, there’s no point.
That’s why it baffled me to know that so many are pushing to allow biological men to compete in women’s sports. It’s just unfair.
As Madalyn’s dad, I want her to be empowered to excel and exceed all the expectations out there. If she lost an opportunity to a biological male who had a clear advantage, I’d be livid.
We want fairness in sports so that our girls can play and see what competition really looks like, with no unfair advantages. The only advantages in sports should be the years of sweat and tears that led them to this point, and nothing more.
