Week In Review: June 16 – 22 | Holding Them Accountable

June 24, 2023 | Blog, Week In Review

Our government is all about accountability.  As your Representative, I fight to hold our government accountable everyday.

This week was no different.  On the floor, the House voted to censure Congressman Adam Schiff for misleading the American public with the outright lie that President Trump colluded with Russia in order to win the 2016 election.  After years of investigations and millions of dollars, the investigations confirmed what we knew all along: there was NO COLLUSION.  He lied to the American people, and the House voted to hold him accountable.

And in the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, I took an opportunity to ask the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on how the law I wrote to keep them accountable is being implemented.  The law mandates the Army Corps to denote their personnel’s exposure to toxins produced by harmful algal blooms.  That way, if someone is faced with health consequences in the future, they won’t have to fight to prove that they were exposed to toxic fumes for 8 to 10 hours every day.
