Today is Military Spouses Appreciation Day and I want to take a moment to recognize and celebrate the incredible husbands and wives of our military families for their unwavering strength, resilience, and personal sacrifices.
My wife, Brianna, was aware of the risks when I deployed to Afghanistan as a bomb technician. She knew that I might not come back. She not only inspired me, but also held down the homefront while I was away. She was my rock when I was injured and continues to support and inspire our family every day.
But even though my story is special, it’s not unique. For countless service members shipping overseas there is a spouse back home praying for their safe return. Their story may not make the headlines, but it’s just as heroic.
Today, we honor them. Their selfless support and love makes the sacrifice of serving your country a little bit easier.
