A year ago, millions of Florida families were facing a tax hike when the 2017 tax cuts expired. Congress passed the One Big Beautiful Bill to keep that from happening, and the results are now showing up in Floridians’ paychecks and tax refunds. Here’s what it has meant for our state:
- 399,000 Florida jobs protected
- $36 billion in wages preserved for Florida workers
- An average tax refund of $4,433 for Floridians this year
- No tax on Social Security for Florida’s 4.8 million seniors
My fundamental belief has always been that it’s your money. Every single dollar that the government spends is one that YOU went to work for, and Washington should be forced to do more with less, so that you can do more with more. That’s why I supported this legislation.
And in case you missed it, we’re expanding rural healthcare here in Florida:
The One Big Beautiful Bill created the Rural Health Transformation Program, and Florida just received $193.7 million for 45 organizations across the state. It pays for telehealth, mobile clinics, community paramedics, specialty and preventive care closer to home, and more doctors and nurses in rural areas.
For rural families on the Treasure Coast, that means fewer long drives to see a specialist. Where you live should never determine whether you can get the care you deserve.
