Polls are open right now, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Flood Watches, Coastal Flooding Advisories, and Warnings are still in effect across the Treasure Coast this morning, roads in parts of Martin and St. Lucie Counties are underwater, and the Governor has declared a state of emergency for both counties.
Because of the flooding, nine polling places across our district have been moved for today. If you normally vote at one of these, go to the new location instead. Signs will be posted at your usual site pointing you there.
- Precinct 2 – Grace Presbyterian Church (Stuart) → Martin County Supervisor of Elections Office, 135 SE Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, Stuart
- Precinct 12 – Fort Pierce Masonic Lodge → Days Inn Midtown, 3224 S US Hwy 1, Fort Pierce
- Precincts 49, 51 & 71 – Oak Hammock K-8 School / DAV Hall → Port St. Lucie Community Center, 2195 SE Airoso Blvd (enter from Airoso Blvd)
- Precincts 67 & 86 – St. Lucie West Centennial High School → Indian River State College Veterans Center of Excellence, 500 NW California Blvd (enter from Peacock Blvd)
- Precincts 83 & 92 – Paula A. Lewis Library / The Brennity at Tradition → Tradition Town Hall, 10799 SW Civic Ln, Port St. Lucie
- Precinct 6401 – Casa Rio Clubhouse (Riviera Beach) → RB Preparatory and Achievement Academy, 7071 Garden Rd, Riviera Beach
- Precinct 7628 – Ironhorse Country Club (West Palm Beach) → North County Senior Center, 5217 Northlake Blvd, Palm Beach Gardens
Every other polling place is open as usual. On Election Day you have to vote at the precinct you’re assigned to, so if you’re not sure where that is, check before you leave the house:
- Martin County: martinvotes.gov or (772) 288-5637
- St. Lucie County: stlucievotes.gov or (772) 462-1500
- Palm Beach County: votepalmbeach.gov
Two more things. If a road is flooded, turn around—don’t drive through it. And if you’re in line at 7 p.m., stay in line. You will get to vote. Our Supervisors of Elections have said more changes are possible if conditions get worse, so check your county’s site before you head out. Your safety always comes first, so make sure to check your neighborhood’s conditions before leaving the house!
It’s an honor to serve you.
