Week In Review: February 8 – 14 | Protecting Man’s Best Friend

Did you know that the Department of Veterans Affairs has been performing extremely painful and distressing research experiments on dogs?

Despite our efforts in recent years to cut funding from these programs, a number of VA facilities have continued to conduct horrible tests including everything from drilling into dogs’ skulls to inducing heart attacks and collapsing their lungs.

The VA has gotten away with conducting these harmful – sometimes even fatal – experiments on man’s best friend for far too long.

This week I helped introduce a new bill called the PUPPERS Act to put an end to these terrible, abusive tests once and for all. We’ve also enlisted the Inspector General at the VA to look into how exactly these tests have been able to continue unchecked.
