This week, we celebrate our nation’s veteransthe people who put on the uniform and defend our freedom.

That’s why it’s truly ironic that President Biden is trying to take away one of their most fundamental freedoms: the right to privacy, especially when it comes to their health care and doctor-patient confidentiality.

I firmly believe that a person’s COVID-19 vaccination status should not be a condition of service.  Forcing service members to be vaccinated undermines the rights of individuals to make their own decisions about what goes into their bodies.

That’s why I introduced legislation to make sure that members of our military aren’t penalized for standing up to President Biden’s unconstitutional vaccine mandate.  The Medical Freedom in the Military Act would prevent the Department of Defense from implementing the mandate and would guarantee that service members have the ability to make their own health care decisions.

Instead of trying to force troops to take the government medicine, President Biden should be focused on countering the real threats posed by China and Russia.  That’s what I’ll keep fighting to do.
