For the last few weeks, Houthis have launched attacks on any ship they could find crossing the Red Sea.  U.S. warships were no exception.  They launched drones and missiles with the intent to cause maximum damage to the global supply chain.

All of this did not appear out of thin air.  Over the past decades, Iran has sown hatred across the Middle East, namely in Lebanon, Gaza and Yemen; now, the world is suffering endless attacks from Hezbollah, Hamas and Houthis.

Simply put, if Iran is the state sponsor of terrorism, then Houthis are the terrorists that Tehran is sponsoring.

That is why, this week, I helped write a bipartisan letter urging Secretary Antony Blinken to re-designate the Houthis as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO).  The Houthis have declared their intent, and it’s time for the United States to show the weight of their words.

At this crucial time in the Middle East, I will continue to call on the Biden Administration to stand with our ally, Israel, and against the Iranian puppets.
