There is not a single issue that I hear more about from folks in our community than the fight for clean water.  It’s something that I work on every single day.  Some days there are small victories, and others there are big wins.

Thankfully, this year, we had some HUGE wins.  The Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) which included several initiatives that I authored, including the Northern Estuaries Restoration Plan (NERP), is going to make an impact for generations to come.

On top of that, my bill, the South Florida Clean Coastal Waters Act, is now law and will require the federal government to develop an action plan to combat toxic algae that’s specific to South Florida.

I’m excited by what we’ve accomplished this year, and ready to get back in the fight in the new Congress!
