There’s no denying it, we’re in a new Cold War with China, and many of the battles are taking place on college campuses.

In its effort to divide the United States and become the next global world power, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has waged an extensive campaign to buy out the education system and undermine fundamental American values on campus.

We are already seeing the consequences of it: from the suppression of freedom of speech and the rise of cancel culture, it’s no surprise that Americans aged 18 to 29 are more likely to have a favorable view of socialism than capitalism.

On top of that, the past few weeks have shown Qatari influence has enabled much of the anti-Semitic sentiment on campuses, and forced the university presidents to acknowledge their draconian code of conduct does not apply to the Jewish people.

This is anti-American, anti-democratic influence that must be rejected at all costs.

That is why earlier this week the House passed the Defending Education Transparency and Ending Rogue Regimes Engaging in Nefarious Transactions (DETERRENT) Act, which would require colleges to disclose any money they receive from countries that are actively undermining American values.

Our nation’s future depends on young men and women.  They are the ones that will one day become the decision-makers, and we have to ensure that they have the tools and knowledge necessary to put America’s interest first and ensure that we remain the best country on earth.  I will continue to push to make sure foreign adversaries cannot spew their lies on our college campuses.
