Fighting for clean water for our community is a non-negotiable priority.  Not only are our waterways natural - and national - treasures, but they have a tremendous impact on the health of our communities and our economy.

In 2021, I introduced or co-led 9 bills in the House of Representatives to ensure that we have every tool possible to use in this fight.  One of those bills, the Local Water Protection Act that I introduced with Congresswoman Angie Craig from Minnesota, was passed by the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. I’ll continue to push in the new year to get it signed into law!

This year, we also saw major developments in the management of Lake Okeechobee.  That fight isn’t over, and there are big improvements that still must be made.

As we head into 2022, I’ll continue to advocate for solutions that will clean up our water and ensure future generations of Floridians are able to enjoy all that our state has to offer.
