The United States is blessed with abundant natural resources, from sea to shining sea.  And of the fifty states, Florida stands out as the best state in the Union.

From the enormous and wondrous Everglades to our beautiful coastal estuaries, Florida is home to ecosystems found nowhere else in the world.

I am truly honored to call the Sunshine State my home, and it is only right that we keep this place beautiful so our children can enjoy it as much as we do.

On this National Florida Day, I want to reiterate my commitment to you that I will always fight to keep our water clean and restore the Everglades.  That means fighting every day to make sure the Lake Okeechobee discharges do not disrupt our coastal communities and the water flows south as nature intended.

There are lots of things to get done, and I will keep you updated on the fight along the way.
