If you take a trip out to Lake Okeechobee right now, the smell will knock you over.  There is disgusting, bright green, toxic algae covering huge swaths of the lake, and the only goal is to try and keep that sludge out of our estuaries.

Achieving that goal would be a lot easier if we had the Lake Okeechobee System Operating Manual (LOSOM) in place.  This is something I’ve been working on since I was first sworn in as your Representative in Congress, and it’s incredibly frustrating to have delay after delay as we try to get this done.  But we’re going to get this over the finish line, and it’s going to be a huge improvement on the status quo for our waterways.
