At Mast’s Urging, President Requests Historic $250 Million For Everglades Restoration In Budget

Announcement Comes Just Weeks After Mast Urged Administration To Increase Funding In FY2021 Budget | Increase To $250 Million Would Ensure Army Corps is Operating At Full Capacity Toward Construction of EAA Southern Storage Reservoir, Other Everglades Restoration Projects

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Congressman Brian Mast (FL-18) today released the following statement after President Donald Trump’s announcement that his Administration was requesting $250 million in funding for Everglades restoration:

“The importance of President Trump’s decision to request a record-setting $250 million for Everglades restoration cannot be overstated. This historic level of funding is exactly what we need to continue building momentum, protecting our ecosystems and stopping harmful discharges,” Rep. Mast said. “With President Trump’s support, I’m hopeful that we can get the EAA Southern Storage Reservoir built ahead of schedule.”
