Prioritizing Mental Health for Veterans

May 28, 2022 | Blog, Veterans

Those who commit to serve put our country before themselves. For many, when they return home, they struggle to re-prioritize their own health, and as a result, they’re faced with a new battle: their own mental health.

It’s an epidemic.  We lose 20 veterans from these battles every single day.

That is why I introduced the Oath of Exit Act.  The bill is about veterans promising to look out for one another and seeking help if we need it because looking out for one another should not end when we leave the battlefield.

No one understands veterans better than other veterans.  That is why we must continue to hold each other accountable and fight the stigma surrounding mental health.

No one should be in this fight alone.
