Week in Review: Release the files
We had a full week back in Washington with a lot going on. First, I had the privilege of joining my friend and former colleague, EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin, for the announcement of a new proposal that establishes a clear, common-sense definition of “waters of the United States” (WOTUS) under the Clean Water Act and gives more power back to the states. While the federal government does have a critical role to play in water policy, it doesn’t need to regulate every single puddle in America. At the end of the day, those who know their water best are the communities who rely on it.
I also met with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman, during his visit to Washington this week. They were productive meetings alongside President Trump and my colleagues in the House, and were all focused on building strong partnerships across the globe for the purpose of prosperity in the homeland.
Lastly, as I’m sure many of you had heard, we voted to release the Epstein files. I’ve always advocated for transparency from our elected officials in these investigations, but always keeping the safety of the victims a priority.
To hear more about this week and what this vote means for the release of the files, we break it all down in this week’s Week in Review.
