It was a long-awaited return last night as our brave astronauts splashed down into the Gulf of America. When NASA astronauts, Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore, arrived at the International Space Station in June, they expected to stay for maybe a few weeks. Instead, they spent an unexpected nine months in space after issues with their Boeing Starliner prevented their return.
Congress had one major item on the to-do list this week: fund the government. By passing a continuing resolution, or a CR, we’ve extended funding for crucial programs like Medicaid, but we’ve also reallocated funds to make sure that every taxpayer dollar is spent wisely. That means investing in things like a pay increase for junior enlisted troops and investment in air traffic control systems.
Florida’s wildlife is a huge part of what makes our state unique and it’s absolutely worth protecting.
