Did you see the good news?

The House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee passed a bill this week to protect our estuaries, including $7.5 million in funding for the Indian River Lagoon!

This is a bill that I’m cosponsoring and helping to get passed through the House because when the Indian River Lagoon or any other estuary is impaired (as ours has been), it impacts fishing, tourism, health, flood protection and more. Our community is living proof of how bad it can get when things go wrong, but I’m confident that we can get this right!

This legislation will go a long way towards promoting healthier communities and helping protect our waterways. The bill is now ready to go to the House floor for a vote, so I will definitely keep you updated on its progress!
