New endorsement for the “Medal of Sacrifice”
Good news!
The National Police Association officially endorsed the Medal of Sacrifice Act—legislation I introduced to ensure that if a law enforcement officer or first responder is killed in the line of duty, their sacrifice is recognized forever in the form of an official medal—straight from the office of the President.
This endorsement reinforces what so many of us already know: our law enforcement officers and first responders willingly put themselves in harm’s way every day to protect us, our families, and our communities.
Under the Medal of Sacrifice Act, the President would present a custom medal—crafted with symbols of strength, resilience, and honor—to the family of an eligible officer or first responder who dies serving others. It’s a permanent testament to service, courage, and the profound debt of gratitude our nation owes to these heroes and their loved ones.
I’m grateful for the National Police Association’s support, and I will continue working to get this bill signed into law.
Thank you for standing with me in this effort.
