Mast Bill To Honor Fallen Florida Trooper Joseph Bullock Passes House

Legislation Moves Closer To Renaming Post Office In Martin County In His Memory

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Congressman Brian Mast (FL-18)’s legislation to designate the United States Post Office in Port Salerno, Fla. as the Joseph Bullock Post Office Building passed the House of Representatives today. This legislation would change the name of this facility to honor the life and sacrifice of Florida Highway Patrol Trooper Joseph Bullock, who was fatally shot in the line of duty on February 5, 2020.

“There are no words or actions that can pay the debt we each owe heroes like Florida Highway Patrol Trooper Joseph Bullock,” Rep. Mast said. “But today, the House of Representatives helped me honor a hero by passing this legislation, preserving his legacy in our community for generations to come.”

Trooper Bullock was fatally shot on February 5, 2020 while assisting a disabled vehicle in Martin County, Fla. Trooper Bullock spent his career protecting the people of Florida, serving as a member of the Florida Highway Patrol for 19 years. Prior to serving on the Florida Highway Patrol, Trooper Bullock served our nation in the United States Air Force.
