Our ally Israel is under attack from Hamas—a terrorist organization that is hugely popular among the Palestinian people.  And, the reality is that that if a democratic election were held by a hypothetical Palestinian state today, Hamas would likely win. A two-state solution that ends with Hamas gaining international legitimacy would be a disaster for Israel and for the world.

That’s why I offered an amendment this week to make sure that the United States opposes any two state solution that includes Hamas.  The United States must not empower radical Islamic terrorists!
