WASHINGTON, D.C. – On the two month anniversary of President Biden’s catastrophic withdrawal from Afghanistan, U.S. Congressman Brian Mast (FL-18) today released a documentary video detailing President Biden’s broken promises and strategic failures throughout the withdrawal process. 

“Since his inauguration, President Biden has made wrong decisions at every single turn,” Rep. Mast said.  “Not only is he responsible for the deaths of 13 Americans and hundreds of our allies, but he wiped 20 years of blood, sweat, and tears in just 20 days.  Two months later, the news cycle has moved on, but we as Americans must continue to demand responsibility from Joe Biden: he bears all of the blame, and he must resign.

BACKGROUND

While serving in the U.S. Army, Rep. Mast was deployed in Afghanistan, where he worked as a bomb disposal expert under the elite Joint Special Operations Command.  In 2010, the last improvised explosive device that he found resulted in the loss of his legs and a finger.  As one of few Afghanistan War veterans in Congress, he has been an active advocate for other Afghanistan War veterans, and a vocal critic of President Biden’s mishandling of the U.S. troop withdrawal from Afghanistan.
