This week in Washington, my colleagues were in a hurry.  In fact, they were in such a rush, they tried to argue that there wasn’t time for Congress to do its job.

First up, in the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Democrats suggested that we didn’t have time to conduct oversight of aid being sent to Ukraine.  Tens of billions of your tax dollars have already been sent to the Ukrainians, but the Biden Administration and its allies in Congress don’t want to take the time to account for that money.  They’d rather just keep the cash flowing - no questions asked.

Then on the House Floor, we debated the Respect for Marriage Act.  Folks on the other side of the aisle suggested that there wasn’t enough time to make sure the bill had adequate protections for religious liberties.  They actually suggested that there wasn’t enough time to make sure the bill didn’t infringe on the Constitutional rights of Americans!

I disagree wholeheartedly on both counts.  Watch the latest Week in Review for more.
