Serving in the military changed me from a high school kid chasing after parties and trying to pick up girls to a Harvard graduate.  These values that the military taught me are the values I hope to instill in my children.

Though I may have lost two legs and a finger, I have gained more than I lost without a doubt in large part because I had the opportunity to work and serve alongside some of the best people I’ve ever met.

I do not regret one minute of my time in the military, and I am confident that my brothers and sisters in arms would say the exact same thing.

This Military Appreciation Month, I salute all my brothers and sisters in arms - in the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard, and now, Space Force - for their selfless service on behalf of our country.
