Happy Earth Day! Today is a day to celebrate this incredible planet and the work we have to do to take care of it.

If there’s one fight I’m in 24/7, 365 days a year, it’s the fight for clean water. Florida is truly blessed with one of the most unique ecosystems in the entire world.  The Everglades and the coastal estuaries provide Florida with both environmental and economic benefits.

Cleaning up our waterways isn’t just about our principles, it’s about our livelihood. Our water impacts everything from our economy to our public health.

That’s why, from the day I arrived in Congress, I’ve been fighting for Floridians and for the environment that makes Florida so special. While we’ve made meaningful progress, there’s still a long road ahead when it comes to restoring and protecting our waters.

I will stay in this fight on Earth Day and every day because if we want to protect the Earth, it has to start in our communities.
