This We’ll Defend: 250 Years Later
This year, we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the founding of the U.S. Army. As an Army veteran, this is an incredible milestone. It’s a moment to honor all the men and women who have worn the uniform— across generations— to defend liberty here at home and abroad.
Since June 14, 1775, American soldiers have stood as the guardians of our democracy. From the battlefields of the Revolutionary War to the frontlines in the Middle East, through natural disasters and periods of national crisis, the Army has always been there and ready to answer the call.
Right now, more than 450,000 American soldiers serve across the world. I could not be more proud to stand with my brothers- and sisters-in-arms. I remember the ones who never made it home, and I carry their memory with me every day. I will always fight to ensure their legacies are never forgotten.
On this historic anniversary, let’s not just celebrate this legacy but also recommit ourselves to back those who are serving today. May we always honor their service, recognize their sacrifice, and remain steadfast in defense of our freedoms that they so bravely protect.
