Our National Parks are treasured by so many, and with protected sites all across the country, every American can and should get to experience the natural beauty our country has to offer. Especially those who put their lives on the line to protect us.
The House passed the Law Enforcement Officer Recreation Pass Act; a bill that will allow the Department of the Interior to offer the National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass to law enforcement officers and firefighters for free and for life.
We depend on law enforcement officers to keep our streets safe, respond to emergencies, and at times, risk their own lives to protect our communities. This bill is a small but meaningful gesture that lets us say “thank you.”
Granting free lifetime recreational passes to active law enforcement, from federal agents to tribal officers, so that they can enjoy our parks acknowledges our sincere support for the risks that they take to keep us safe.
