Floridians don’t often have to think about freezing temperatures, but this weekend many communities across our state will experience an unseasonable cold snap.
Across the Treasure Coast and Palm Beaches, counties have activated their cold-weather shelters as temperatures could dip below 40 degrees overnight. These warming centers are open to help vulnerable residents stay warm, healthy, and out of dangerous conditions.

Free public transportation through Area Regional Transit (ART) is offering rides to the shelter from multiple pickup points throughout Port St. Lucie and Fort Pierce, making it easier for anyone who needs help getting to a warm location.

Bring pets inside, check on older neighbors, and make sure those without reliable heat have a safe place to stay.
