I'm here for you
When you can’t get a hold of a federal agency or you’re having trouble receiving the benefits you’ve earned, my constituent services team stands ready to help.
These are some of the agencies we hear about the most:
- Internal Revenue Service (IRS) — delayed refunds, identity theft holds, duplicate payments, delinquency notices
- Social Security Administration (SSA) — benefits, back pay, funds held in trust
- Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) — claims, disability ratings, health care access
- Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) — family notification, medical care for the incarcerated
- General Services Administration (SAM.gov) — federal registration for veterans’ posts and small businesses
I couldn’t be prouder of our team for working with constituents across the district:
“Trying to navigate the IRS on my own felt like hitting a brick wall.”
Jon in Port St. Lucie was fighting an identity theft mark and a delinquency notice for the 2024 tax year. My office went directly to the Internal Revenue Service on his behalf, and the entire matter was closed.
“After numerous telephone calls, visits to the local Social Security office and emails, I was getting nowhere.”
Fran spent four years trying to recover more than $12,000 the Social Security Administration was holding in trust for her sister-in-law. My team took it to our SSA contacts and got the money back.
“We truly did not know if he was dead or alive.”
Sandra’s brother was in federal custody when the Bureau of Prisons found a rare and aggressive brain cancer. Twelve weeks went by with no word to his family. My office opened a direct line to the BOP. The family finally heard his voice, and he was approved for the stem cell transplant that has him in remission today.
Sandra called it “a lifeline that we could not have lived without.”
“I know if I had had to try to do this on my own I would still be waiting for my check.”
Mary Ann accidentally paid her 2025 taxes twice, then couldn’t reach a human being at the IRS in the thick of filing season. My staff followed up again and again, right until the refund check was in her hands.
I take my job as your representative seriously, and that means advocating on your behalf. These are just a few of the successes we’ve had over the last year, and I couldn’t be prouder of my team or more grateful for your trust in us.
