From the day I was sworn into Congress, I’ve been fighting for Floridians and for the environment that makes the Sunshine State so special. Today, on World Environment Day, we celebrate this incredible planet and recommit to the work required to protect it.

Florida is home to some of the most unique ecosystems in the world. Right in our own backyard, we have the St. Lucie River, one of the most biodiverse estuaries in North America. Just south of the Treasure Coast is the Everglades, an ecological treasure that makes Florida truly one-of-a-kind. In fact, it is home to more species of plants and animals than any other ecosystem in the continental United States.

Protecting our water and environment is our way of life.

I’m committed to securing a clean and healthy environment for all. I will stay in this fight because protecting our planet is a responsibility we all share, for ourselves and for future generations.
