A lot happened this week, but I can sum it up to three major topics: China, Lake Okeechobee, and executive orders.

This week, the Department of Energy released a new report that showed it’s likely that COVID-19 was the result of a lab leak.  In response, I introduced a resolution to empower the United States to stop all payments on debt owed to China equal to the full cost of our pandemic response.

On the local front, the U.S. Army Corps stopped discharges from Lake Okeechobee after an algal bloom was spotted near the Port Mayaca lock and dam.  This is more proof that the only acceptable number of discharges for the Treasure Coast and the northern estuaries is ZERO.

And on the House Floor, we passed the REIN IN Inflation Act, which would require the Administration to publish the inflationary impact of any executive order signed by the President.  Americans deserve to know how the decisions in the White House will affect their bottom line.
