This May, I hope you’ll join me in recognizing Military Appreciation Month.

Earlier this week I joined the American Veterans Center to honor a special group of men who led the charge for freedom during World War II. These heroic men were just a few of the countless servicemembers who risked their lives - many of whom paid the ultimate sacrifice - all to defend the values that our country holds dear.

I also took a few minutes this week to celebrate Military Spouse Appreciation Day. To put it simply, the life of being a military spouse is not easy. That’s why it’s so important that we say thank you to the husbands and wives who take care of everything in their servicemember’s absence - and for doing it with never ending love.

Finally, I’d like to invite you and your families to join me for a special barbecue to celebrate Military Appreciation Day on May 25th. I hope you’ll join me in Flagler Park from 11am to 1pm for a day of fun in honor of the military servicemembers and their families who live in our community.
