WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Congressman Brian Mast (FL-18) released the following statement after passing bipartisan legislation to fund the government, including money to reimburse Palm Beach County for security costs related to the travel of the President of the United States:

“I promised Palm Beach County taxpayers that we would secure money to reimburse the county for President Trump’s security costs and today we delivered on that promise. The government funding bill passed today includes $61 million to reimburse communities for Presidential security costs, and I’ll continue pressuring leaders in Washington to ensure Palm Beach County receives full compensation.”

In March, Rep. Mast wrote a bipartisan letter with the other Members of Congress representing Palm Beach County requesting these funds to reimburse costs incurred while protecting the President be included in the appropriations package.
