WASHINGTON, D.C. – On day 22 of Lake Okeechobee discharges, U.S. Congressman Brian Mast today delivered algae-filled water from the St. Lucie River to the Floor of the U.S. House of Representatives.  According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, approximately 42% of Lake Okeechobee is now covered in algal blooms (more than 270 square miles).
