During President Trump’s visit to Lake Okeechobee, I talked with him specifically about the importance of fully funding critical infrastructure projects like the southern storage reservoir that will cut down on discharges, prevent harmful algal blooms and restore the southern flow of water.

This week we got some great news...

President Trump officially sent a revised budget request to Congress asking for $200 million for Everglades restoration to match the state’s commitment. This is a HUGE step in the right direction, and there is no time to waste. Our communities are suffering and the Everglades are dying.

The next step in our fight is getting Members of Congress on the Appropriations committee to make sure this money is included in the bill currently moving through Congress. Together, with President Trump’s support, I am confident we can finally get this done and send the water south!
