There’s been a lot of discussion about President Biden’s socialist spending spree, but perhaps one of the most outrageous line items is the $100 billion that will be spent to grant amnesty to illegal immigrants. 

In the current proposal, any immigrant who entered the U.S. illegally before 2011 will be eligible to apply for a green card.  More than 7 million people could receive amnesty under this plan.  There would be no consequences for breaking our laws.  Border encounters have reached an all time high in recent months, and policies like this are only incentivizing more people to attempt to cross the border.  

We are a nation of immigrants, but we are also a nation of laws.  Congress needs to work to reform our broken immigration system and providing blanket amnesty to those who’ve broken the law isn’t the answer.
