In Case You Missed It – U.S. Congressman Brian Mast (FL-21) joined Fox News’ Fox & Friends to discuss President Donald Trump’s executive order reinstating members of the military who were discharged for refusing the COVID-19 vaccine and Congressional Republicans’ approach to the reconciliation process.
On President Trump’s move to reinstate soldiers, sailors, Airmen, Marines, and Guardians who were discharged for refusing to take the mandated COVID-19 vaccine:
“It’s a great day for patriots, it’s a great day for our servicemembers – my brothers- and sisters-in-arms. Let’s not forget, you go back in time, and it wasn’t just the military, it was other government agencies as well, as they were washing – essentially – conservatives who were raising their hands and saying ‘hey, I don’t want to take this vaccine.’ … It’s going to be beautiful to have these individuals returning, putting on that uniform. That sense of pride for their families that they stood up for their causes, what they believed in, and they were rewarded for it, that they’re returning back to the military.”
On the budget reconciliation process and President Trump’s leadership:
“Yeah, Senate Republicans, House Republicans…dealing with everything we’ve got going on with football right now, let’s say we need a strong head coach. President Trump is going to be that; he’s coming in speaking to us today with the playbook. This is the play we’re going to run, we need everybody running in the same direction. … These were the promises that moved the Senate and the House [into] the majorities and the President across the finish line, and that’s what’s going to be delivered. Here’s the playbook for it.”
