We believe in fairness in sports so that women and girls can compete on a level playing field and truly experience the essence of competition without any undue advantages. That’s exactly why I voted yes on the Protecting Women and Girls in Sports Act.

This bill is about fairness, leveling the playing field and ensuring that sports are fair. Sports should remain a space where effort, skill, and dedication are the only deciding factors.

Why should biological men, who studies show men have roughly 36 percent more muscle mass than biological women, be allowed to use their biologically-based advantage in women’s sports?

As Madalyn’s dad, I want her to be empowered to excel and exceed all the expectations out there. If she were to lose an opportunity to someone with a clear and unfair advantage, I would be livid. Rightfully so.

In sports, the only advantages should be the years of sweat and tears that led them to this point, and nothing more. This bill ensures that women are no longer unfairly targeted or disadvantaged by biological men competing in their sports.
