It’s been one week since America’s Everglades Summit on Capitol Hill, and I’m still fired up. It was an opportunity for everyone who’s passionate about Everglades restoration to gather and talk about what’s at stake.

I joined a bipartisan group of lawmakers, scientists, community leaders, and clean water warriors, who had one thing in common—they refuse to give up the fight for clean water. My message was simple: our fight is far from over. In fact, the closer we get to restoring Florida’s River of Grass, the more desperate our opposition becomes.

There are powerful interests that want total control over every drop of water in Florida. They will stop at nothing to keep that control. But anyone that stands in their way, including you and me, has proven we can win. We’ve secured record funding, rallied to block bad legislation, and grown a coalition of advocates from across our state. And to anyone that tries to stop us, I’ll say it again: we will not stop until the mission is accomplished.
