Names matter. It’s who America chooses to honor, who we want our children to recognize, and a reverent nod to our history and legacy.

That’s why I introduced legislation to rename Palm Beach International Airport to “Donald J. Trump International Airport,” or DJT.

Think of New York’s JFK or Washington’s Reagan National. Those two airports were named after undeniably impactful Presidencies, and I believe we should continue that tradition. My bill asks the Federal Aviation Administration to work with all of the relevant state, federal, and international agencies and organizations to ensure this redesignation sticks.

There’s no airport more deserving of this designation: President Trump’s strong ties to our community are longlasting. When President Trump comes home, Air Force One lands on PBI’s runway and Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Officers step in to work with U.S. Secret Service for protecting his motorcade. When our nation thinks of Palm Beach now, they think of our President’s chosen home base and community—it makes sense to recognize that.

Next it’ll head to the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure for consideration before it can reach the floor for a full House vote, but I wanted you to hear it from me first. I’ll keep you updated every step of the way!
