Week in Review: Our warriors & our water
In Washington this week, the House is writing this year’s defense bill, the National Defense Authorization Act, and I’m pushing amendments forward to fight for all of America’s service members. One of my amendments seeks to end the military’s “use it or lose it” cap for leave. You can read more about it and in my Op-Ed published in the Washington Examiner.
Also, on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, we’ve begun drafting the most important piece of legislation for our clean-water fight. I’m ready to, once again, be at the table to fight for our waterways, coastal estuaries, and coastline. A huge part of that means ending the toxic discharges from Lake Okeechobee into the St. Lucie River—for good. If you check out my website, you can see just how far we’ve come.
