The math behind the One Big Beautiful Bill is simple—when standard deductions are increased, Americans get to keep more money in their pockets. I came to Congress to protect working families from senseless tax hikes. Voting for this legislation keeps that promise, so let’s break it down.

The bill permanently preserves the doubled standard deduction, with amounts set at:

  1. $15,750 for single filers

  2. $23,625 for heads of household

  3. $31,500 for married couples filing jointly

All of these adjust annually in accordance with inflation, so this tax relief is here to stay.

And our seniors keep more too. This bill provides an extra $6,000 deduction for individuals aged 65 and up—and $12,000 for married couples where both spouses qualify. With the standard deduction and existing age-based exemptions, the net effect means 88 percent of Social Security recipients will pay zero federal income tax on their benefits. Also delivering relief for families raising their kids, the One Big Beautiful Bill boosts standard deductions by as much as $1,500 for working households, which is relief for 91 percent of all taxpayers

It's real relief strengthening our economy from the bottom up with bigger standard deductions for hardworking Americans. Congressional Republicans and President Trump delivered on a tax policy that’s fair and simple. That’s what I promised, and that’s why I voted YES.
