Earlier today, I spoke with my friend and former colleague—Secretary of Transportation, Sean Duffy—during a Transportation and Infrastructure hearing. The hearing focused on the Department’s priorities and programs as our committee considers its budget for the 2026 fiscal year. 

Secretary Duffy and I touched on some of the critical issues our district is facing on the transportation front, discussing the Mega grants needed for the St. Lucie River Railroad Bridge and the Florida Department of Transportation’s ability to conduct the large projects our state needs to deliver results. 

I also made sure to invite Secretary Duffy to come visit our district so that he can see the challenges our communities face firsthand. I look forward to working with Secretary Duffy as we advance infrastructure projects that drive economic growth and empower our communities’ municipalities.
