The Everglades are one of our nation’s most precious natural treasures. We must do all that we can to protect this critical ecosystem.

That’s why I pushed the Biden Administration and Democrats in Congress for months to use the infrastructure bill to fund Everglades restoration projects like the Everglades Agricultural Area (EAA) Reservoir, the single most important project in our push to end toxic discharges and get water south to the Everglades.

Instead, they passed a multi-trillion infrastructure bill that didn’t allocate a single penny specifically for Everglades restoration.

After that colossal mistake, I pushed the Army Corps to do what Congressional Democrats and President Biden refused to do: fund this important project.

They didn’t listen.  They made it worse.

Today, the Army Corps announced that they are allocating more than $1 billion toward water infrastructure but they aren’t directing a single penny to the EAA Reservoir, completely neglecting the project that would have the biggest impact in cleaning up our waterways.  It’s unacceptable.
