The Army Corps is the most important federal agency for fixing the water problems in our community, but right now we don't have permanent leadership for the agency. Since the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works resigned, the position has been filled by an acting secretary that hasn't been confirmed by the Senate.

We need a new leader for the Army Corps NOW!

Not only do we need a new leader, but we need a radical thinker to make transformational change and who will work with us in Congress to get the job done.

That's why I joined with more than 30 other members this week on a letter to the President calling on him to nominate an Assistant Secretary so the Senate can get them confirmed.

In the meantime, I'll continue pushing the Army Corps to work with South Florida Water Management District on a southern reservoir.
