Ending Taxpayer-Funded Animal Abuse
For far too long, your tax dollars have been used to fund gruesome and unnecessary experiments on animals to the tune of $15 billion per year. These painful and invasive tests involve severing the spinal cords of cats, inducing heart attacks in dogs, chaining monkeys inside tiny cages and more. The federal government’s support of these outdated and often deadly experiments must stop!
That’s why I am fighting to cut off this funding, prohibit painful or distressing animal experiments, and require the agencies using these animals to adopt them out to loving homes. We have made some progress, but much more needs to be done.
Taxpayer-funded animal cruelty is unacceptable, and it is well-past time for Congress to bring it to an end. Check out this new video or visit mast.house.gov/animals to learn more.
